Residency

Brazil, for remote work outside the EU.

Brazil offers a temporary visa built specifically for people who work remotely for employers or clients outside the country. It is the one Brazilian route we support.

A route designed around remote work

Brazil’s digital nomad route sits in the VITEM XIV temporary visa category and was created so that people can live in Brazil while working for a foreign employer, with no formal employment registered in Brazil. It was introduced through a National Immigration Council resolution in early 2022.

It is a temporary residence route rather than a settlement one, and it suits people who want a substantial period in Brazil while their working life stays elsewhere.
